First things first: we do not collect pupil data
Ready to Teach Spanish is a lesson bank for teachers. There are no pupil accounts, no pupil names are recorded, no marks or results are stored, and no data about children is collected at all. Lessons are downloaded or printed, and what happens afterwards in the classroom is outside this service.

I am the controller for the data described here, under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
What data I collect and why
If you create an account: your name, your email address and your password (stored encrypted; I never see it). These identify you and give you access to the lessons.
If you subscribe: the status of your subscription, the start and renewal dates, and the customer identifier Stripe generates. I never receive or store your card details: you enter them directly into Stripe's payment page.
If you write through the contact form: your name, your email address and whatever you write in the school and question fields. These are used only to reply to you.
Minimal technical data needed to keep the site working and secure.
I do not buy mailing lists, I do not profile you, I make no automated decisions about you, and I send no third-party advertising.
Legal basis
- Performance of a contract, to give you the access you have paid for and manage the subscription.
- Legal obligation, to keep records of sales as UK tax rules require.
- Legitimate interest, to keep the service secure and to answer your questions.
Who it is shared with
I use three providers. Each processes data only to provide me with their service, and none of them uses it for their own purposes:
- Stripe — processes payments and sends the receipt for each charge. Receives your name, your email, your billing address and your card details.
- Supabase — hosts the database and the account system, and sends the sign-up confirmation and password reset emails. Receives your name and your email.
- Lovable — hosts the website and sends the notice before each annual renewal. Receives your email.
These providers may process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where that happens, the transfer relies on the standard contractual clauses and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.
Beyond that, I do not sell or pass on your data to anyone. I would disclose it only if the law required me to.
How long it is kept
- Account data: while the account is active. If you close it, the data is deleted within 30 days.
- Payment and billing records: six years, because UK tax rules require it.
- Contact form messages: up to 12 months after I reply.
Your rights
You can ask me at any time to give you access to your data, correct it, delete it, restrict how it is used, object to that use, or send it to you in a portable format. Write to hola@readytoteachspanish.co.uk and I will reply within one month.
If you think I have not handled your data properly, you can complain to the UK data protection authority, the Information Commissioner's Office: ico.org.uk, telephone 0303 123 1113.

This site uses only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to make payment work. There are no advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking and no social media cookies.
Changes to this policy
If anything relevant changes, I will update this page and the date at the top. If a change affects you significantly and you have an active subscription, I will email you.
